Saima for reducing disaster risk of disabled
Saima Hossain, the Chairperson of National Advisory Committee on Autism, on Saturday said special planning should be taken to cut disaster risk of the people with disabilities.
She said this while addressing an inaugural ceremony of Dhaka Conference on disability and disaster risk management on the day, reports BSS.
‘The people with disabilities are vulnerable during any natural and manmade disasters so, special planning is needed for protecting lives of physically and mentally challenged people during disaster period,’ she emphasized.
She also presented a key keynote paper in the session in this connection.
According to the BSS report, in her keynote presentation Saima said, ‘My grandfather (Bangabandhu) had taken necessary initiatives for rehabilitations of wounded freedom fighters.’
